| July 10 | Board Workshop - Dr. Wayne Blanton visits & speaks to Board regarding Scope & parameter of Superintendent Search |
| August 21 | Citizen´s Committee* meets with Dr. Blanton, receives Board charge |
| September 8 | Superintendent candidate applications received by 4:30 p.m. |
| September 23 | Final Citizen´s Committee meeting with Dr. Blanton, top 5 semi-finalists recommended |
| September 24 | Special Board Meeting - Board names top 5 semi-finalists, sets Schedule to visit candidate districts |
| October 13-17 | Reports presented regarding Board members´ visits to candidate districts; semi-finalists and their families visit Manatee District |
| October 20-24 | Special Board Meeting - Finalist named Enter into negotiation with Finalist Naming of new Superintendent of Schools |
| November 10 | New Superintendent reports to work |
| *The Superintendent Search Citizen´s Committee will be made up of community members invited by School Board members representing the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Latino Chamber of Commerce, MEA (Manatee Education Association), AFSCME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees), NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), Manatee Community College (MCC), Sales Tax Accountability Committee (STAC), EdVantage Core Team, and a school administrator´s group. | |
