The Superintendent Search Citizen´s Committee held it´s last meeting Tuesday, September 23 at 6 PM and heard two additional presentations from committee members on candidates Dr. Brenda Magee and Tim McGonegal. These presentations were not available at the committee´s September 18th meeting where five semi-finalists were preliminarily selected. After hearing a background and reference report, the committee re-cast their ballots and made a final decision to recommend four finalists to the School Board at the September 24th Special Meeting.

At the September 24th Special School Board meeting, the Board reviewed the Citizen´s Committees´ recommendations under the direction of Dr. Wayne Blanton, School Board consultant for the search. After discussion, the School Board accepted the committees´ Top Four recommendations as presented and added an additional candidate, Mr. Ken Marsh, to the group of finalists. Next the School Board will conduct interviews with these five candidates the week of October 13-17, 2008.
