School District officials have announced that all schools and support sites will reopen and regular school programs and activities will resume on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 after being closed Tuesday in anticipation of approaching Tropical Storm Fay.

Five school sites were activated Tuesday as shelters but Manatee County Emergency Operations and The Red Cross ordered them cleared as of 10 a.m. today. District officials will complete campus assessments prior to classes resuming tomorrow.

Parents and the community are reminded that tomorrow is a MODIFIED WEDNESDAY schedule with hours as follows:

SCHOOL START AND END TIMES
Elementary  8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m
Middle School  9:15 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.
High School  7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The makeup day for students is expected to be in November and will be approved at a future School Board meeting.
