BRADENTON - Winners of Tropicana's Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest will receive recognition and cash prizes during a congratulatory presentation at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 16th at Tropicana's Bradenton offices located at 1001 13th Avenue East.

Lakewood Ranch High senior Stephanie Rescigno will be awarded $500 for winning first place in the essay contest. Students who entered the contest were asked to write their thoughts on “What Hispanic Culture Brings to American Society.”

Manatee High senior Maria Carolina Ronderos won second-place in the contest and will be awarded $250. Manatee High junior Valerie Panting won third place and will receive $100. Palmetto High senior Jessica Ramirez will also be recognized at the ceremony for her essay.

The schools represented by the top three finishers will receive a cash award equal to the prizes awarded the winners.
