THE SKY IS THE LIMIT AT SPACE DAY (Bradenton, FL - April 17, 2008) More than 1,000 local students are expected to learn about the wonders of space exploration during Space Day at Abel Elementary School, this Friday, April 18, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The purpose of Space Day is to excite children about career opportunities in science, math, technology and engineering by giving students access to fun, hands-on activities and access to engaging aeronautics and aviation professionals. This year´s keynote speaker for Space Day is Tom Nolan of NASA´s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. Mr. Nolan will entertain students with stories about his adventures building satellites, training dolphins and traveling around the world. In addition to Mr. Nolan, visitors to Space Day include representatives of G.WIZ, the Hands-On Museum; Mote Marine Laboratory; the South Florida Museum; and the Southern Manatee Fire Rescue. Space Day is sponsored by Lockheed Martin. Abel Elementary is located at 7100 Madonna Place. ### |
