CALENDAR APPROVED FOR 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR (Bradenton, FL. - February 29, 2008) The Manatee County School Board recently approved a calendar for the 2008-2009 school year. Some of the key dates include: August 11, 2008 - First day for teachers August 18, 2008 - First day for students October 6-10, 2008 - FCAT retakes December 22, 2008 - Winter holiday break begins January 6, 2009 - Students return from winter holiday break February 10-13, 2009 - FCAT Writes March 10-23, 2009 - FCAT Testing April 6-10, 2009 - Spring break June 5, 2009 - Last day for students June 8, 2009 - Last day for teachers The School Board approved this calendar at its meeting on February 25, 2008.
