BASEBALL BUDDIES TEAM UP TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL
(Bradenton, FL. - January 18, 2008) Every other week since early October, baseball players from Bayshore High School have been visiting with fourth grade boys at Bayshore Elementary to read with them. The younger boys really enjoy and look forward to the time they spend with their baseball buddies.
On December 14, 2007, the elementary students traveled to Bayshore High to take part in a kickball game between the students and faculty. The younger boys played alongside their baseball buddies against the faculty as a crowd of high school students watched and cheered. The high school students paid to attend the game, which raised $500. That money will be used to help purchase libraries of books for the fourth grade classrooms at Bayshore Elementary.
Next Tuesday, January 22, 2008, the baseball players will present the check to the students at Bayshore Elementary at 8:45 a.m. It will be a great way to celebrate a real gift of giving. For more information, contact Bayshore Elementary Principal Annette Codelia at 751-7000, ext. 201.
