A MESSAGE OF CONGRATULATIONS FROM SUPERINTENDENT DR. ROGER DEARING
(Bradenton, FL - June 2, 2008) All of us associated with the Manatee County School District in Bradenton, Florida would like to extend our sincere congratulations to the Max Planck Gymnasium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on the occasion of your 150th Anniversary.
Since the United States of America is less than 250 years old, and the state of Florida was only established 163 years ago, we tend to marvel at the length of time you´ve been devoted to the noble mission of educating young minds.
We are extremely grateful for the relationship we have established with the Max Planck Gymnasium through the German-American Partnership Program. I know full well how this program has benefited our students by helping them to understand and appreciate a culture and a country that is different from
the one in which they were raised. The daughter of my personal assistant participated in the program and her mother has expressed to me how much that experience broadened her daughter´s educational outlook. Other families here in Florida also point to this exchange program as one of the highlights of their child´s
educational experience. In a world that is becoming more increasingly interdependent, it is exciting to be involved in a partnership program that helps our students live and learn together.
Congratulations on your anniversary, and we look forward to working with you in the future as we strive to meet our mission of helping our students learn, dream and achieve.
