MANATEE EDUCATION FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES MORE THAN $5,000 IN GRANTS TO ABEL ELEMENTARY
(Bradenton, FL - May 12, 2008) Superintendent Dr. Roger Dearing will present a check in the amount of $5486.50 to Abel Elementary on behalf of the Manatee Education Foundation at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. The check represents funding made available for 14
teachers at Abel through the Foundation´s Cash for Classroom Grants program. The grants awarded to Abel cover a range of subjects including Special Education, Phonics, Literacy, Math, Reading and Technology; including three new Elmo projection machines.
The Manatee Education Foundation is a private 501(c)3 charity dedicated to providing private funding for the public schools of Manatee County. The Cash for Classroom Grants program allows teachers and schools to pursue educational opportunities and projects that would not be available otherwise.
The Foundation has distributed more than $80,000 in teacher and classroom grants within Manatee County during the 2007-2008 school year.
Abel Elementary is located at 7100 Madonna Place. Tuesday´s ceremony will be held in the school´s cafeteria.
