It has been proven that when parents are actively involved in their child´s education, their child performs better in school. You are just as important as your child´s teacher in helping your child receive a good education. It doesn´t matter whether or not you speak English or whether or not you have a good education. You can make a big difference just by being a part of your child´s everyday school experience.

School Advisory Council (SAC)
Each Manatee County public school invites parents to get involved. Each school must have a School Advisory Council that is ethnically, racially and economically representative of its community. This council is an umbrella group that brings all stakeholders together to work on improving a school.
For more information on SAC and procedures call 708-8770 ext 2153.

School Improvement Plans (SIP)
At each school the School Advisory Council (SAC) develops a school improvement plan - a plan for the future. Schools need to know where they are, where they want to be and how they can best get there. The school district has a strategic planning process that helps School Advisory Councils set goals and establish strategies for reaching those goals. It helps the school, parents and the students create a shared vision and provide each other with support for achieving success.
For more information on SIP call 708-8770 ext 2153.
