Code of Conduct In order to provide a safe and disciplined learning environment, the School Board of Manatee County authorized the development of a Code of Student Conduct. It was developed with input from administrators, faculty members, students, and School Advisory Councils. The Code is reviewed annually and updated as needed. The Code of Student Conduct is available by clicking the following link or by clicking on the PDF version below. Every student is given a copy of this Code of Conduct at the beginning of each year along with the Student Handbook for each school. You may download a copy of Code of Student Conduct in PDF here if you wish. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the file. Manatee County has Compulsory School Attendance that, by law, requires all children ages 6-18 to attend school. Truancy officers track and assist schools in providing intervention for students with excessive unexcused absentee and tardy rates. Truancy officers also refer students and parents for services through Children and Families in Need of Services (CIN-FINS). Habitual truants are referred for alternative programs and may have cases referred for subsequent court action. This may include fines being assessed and/or community service hours. There is also a Driver's License Revocation Program that can suspend driver's licenses for habitual truants that can only be returned if the student has more than 30 days of consistent attendance and principal's approval.
