Approval of Samoset Elementary School Classroom Addition - Authorization to Negotiate for Construction Manager (Revised)

Description

Staff has been directed to design and construct a classroom addition at Samoset Elementary School as approved in the 2005/2006 Capital Projects budget.  The purpose of the requested action is to accept the rankings of the Selection Committee and authorize staff to begin negotiations for construction management at risk services with the highest ranked firm to construct a classroom addition at Samoset Elementary School.

 

Dates of Advertisement:  June 18 and June 25, 2006

 

Date of Short Listing:  August 18, 2006

 

Date of Interviews:  September 7, 2006

 

Ranking of Interviewed Firms:

 

          Number One Firm:    Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc.

          Number Two Firm:    A.D. Morgan Corporation

          Number Three Firm:  The Morganti Group, Inc.

 

The Superintendent recommends approval of Samoset Elementary School Classroom Addition - Authorization to Negotiate for Construction Manager.



Recommendation

Motion and approval of Samoset Elementary School Classroom Addition - Authorization to Negotiate for Construction Manager.



Financial Impact

There is no fiscal impact to authorize staff to negotiate for professional services.
