Agenda Item #17

Title
Approval of Annual License Agreement and Maintenance Plan for Individual Education Plan Software with Synergistics Frameworks, Inc., for the 2006-2007 Fiscal Year (Revised)

Description

In 2001, the School Board approved the purchase and implementation of the Synergistics software to electronically create and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.  The IEP is required by federal and state regulations for all students eligible for exceptional student education.

Included in this purchase was an annual maintenance fee to provide technical assistance updates and upgrades.  This annual maintenance feature expired in June, 2006.  An updated maintenance agreement is needed in order to continue this service.  The fee is determined based on 15% of the original Software Implementation Agreement, adjusted for enrollment.

The Superintendent recommends approval of Annual License Agreement and Maintenance Plan for individual education plan software with Synergistics Frameworks, Inc., for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.
