Description

The School Board of Manatee County contracted for the provision of fou4 (4) School Resource Officers from the City of Bradenton Police Department for the 2005-2006 school year.  These School Resource Officers were assigned to Sugg Middle School, Manatee High School, Horizons Academy Middle School, and an officer who rotated between elementary schools, all of which are within the City of Bradenton’s jurisdiction.

The City of Bradenton will provide five (5) School Resource Officers for the 2006-2007 school year with the following school assignments:

Manatee High School (2)

Horizons Academy Middle School (1)

Rotation between elementary schools within City of Bradenton limits (1)

The City of Bradenton and the School Board of Manatee County will continue to equally share the costs of the School Resource Officers at Sugg Middle School, Manatee High School and the elementary schools’ rotating officer.  Manatee High School has contracted for an additional School Resource Officer (SRO), which is reflected in the total number of resource officers.  Manatee High will supply 50% of the funding of this officer.  The City of Bradenton will fund the other 50% of the cost.  The School Board of Manatee County will continue to fund the School Resource Officer at Horizons Academy Middle School at 100%.
