Minutes: 

Board members present: Harry G. Kinnan, Chairman; Barbara A. Harvey, Vice-Chairwoman; Robert C. Gause; Walter E. Miller, and Jane R. Pfeilsticker.  Also present: Dr. Roger Dearing, Superintendent; Lynette Edwards, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction; Herb Tschappat, Assistant Superintendent for District Support Services; and Tim McGonegal, Assistant Superintendent for Business Services.


CALL TO ORDER (5:45 p.m.)
2. Call to Order

Minutes: 

Chairman Kinnan called the meeting to order at 5:48 p.m.

3. Pledge of Allegiance

Minutes: 

Chairman Kinnan led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

4. EdVantage Update

Minutes: 

Herb Tschappat, Assistant Superintendent for District Support Services, provided an overview of EdVantage and the progress made over the past year.

Mr. Tschappat introduced district and community Core Team members, who were in the audience.

The following strategy leaders gave an update. 

Measurement, presented by Dr. David Ferguson, Supervisor of Program Evaluation.

Curriculum, presented by Lynette Edwards, Asstistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.  A copy of Ms. Edwards' presentation has been attached to the agenda item.

Chairman Kinnan called for a recess at 7:10 p.m., and reconvened the meeting at 7:24 p.m.

Mandates, presented by Fran Padgett, Executive Director of Support and Intervention Services.

Partnerships, presented by Mary Glass, Director of Manatee Education Foundation.

Leadership, presented by Dr. Lyn Boyer, Planning Principal.

Trust, presented by Herb Tschappat, Assistant Superintendent for District Support Services, and Tim McGonegal, Assistant. Superintendent for Business Services.

The School Board Members commended the Strategy Leaders on their work, and the progress made in implementing EdVantage.

Minutes: 

There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Kinnan adjourned the meeting at 8:25 p.m.
