Welcome Gullett Families
Hello Gullett families. Welcome to another exciting school year. There are many things to be excited about here at Gullett Elementary. We continue to be the largest elementary school in Manatee County with almost 1100 students and growing.
The 19-20 school year was a challenging year for education. With the COVID-19 pandemic, we switched to virtual learning for all students in the blink of an eye. However, our amazing staff, students, and families made it all work and end the year on a positive note. As we transition to the 20-21 school year, we have 2 different learning models for our families to choose from - eLearning or on-site learning. Both of these models will have a Gullett teacher working directly with our students and we look forward to the progress we will see.
This year, our teachers will continue incorporating Morning Meetings in their daily routines where students will be engaged in discussion, greeting one another, and developing social skills to build positive momentum for each day. Our teachers will also be focusing on leadership by infusing the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People into their daily lessons. Students will be focusing on Being Proactive, Synergizing, and Thinking Win-Win. As we continue to grow with both academics and leadership, we will surely see continued success for the entire school!
Finally, our school would not be where we are today without the continued support of the parents and families. We encourage you to get involved in your child's education. Although we can not have any volunteers or visitors on campus right now, the support of your children and our school is always welcomed! We have a great PTO that works to support our teachers and students, we have a very involved SAC that helps oversee the school policies, and much more.
Thank you Gullett families for your continued support and encouragement. While the year looks very different than years of the past, we still are still working hard to provide the best educational experience for your children!
