New Educator Programs
SDMC is pleased to provide new educators a comprehensive induction program. We are excited to provide support and developmental opportunities to new educators of all levels: interns, new teachers, and teachers new to SDMC. Our induction program includes partnerships between school sites, building personnel, professionals within the Instructional Division, and local universities. 90 Day Program
Educators with at least three years of successful experience and a Florida Professional Certificate qualify. The program has three face-to-face sessions (Aug/Sept/Oct or Jan/Feb/Mar) depending on when you are hired. Additionally, there is online coursework that supports and complements the face to face training. Qualified assessors, review all work submissions and provide feedback in a timely fashion for learning purposes. Course include (not limited to) on Ethics, Safety and Security, FEAPS/The Danielson Framework, and District Curriculum including current initiatives.
For New Educators with no prior teaching experience qualify for a year-long. The program’s designed to grow teaching skills in alignment to the District’s Teacher Evaluation Model. The program has two hour monthly face-to-face sessions with monthly online coursework that reinforces and extends the face-to-face learning. Qualified assessors, review all work submissions and provide feedback in a timely fashion for learning purposes. Course topics include (not limited to) Ethics, Safety & Security, FEAPs, The Danielson Framework, Differentiation, Assessment, Data Analysis, and District Curriculum including current initiatives.
