    Softball successfully defends 5A State Title

    On May 24, Parrish Community High school captured the state title for the 2nd year in a row against Gainesville High School, with a score of 3-2 in extra innings. For the Bulls' five year program, this win adds to an impressive trophy case with two state championships, two regional championships, and three district championships.

    PCHS Athletics Places 4th in State Academic Ranking

    Being a student athlete is one of the most admirable qualities a high school student can achieve, and it comes with great dedication and sacrifice. Participating in high school sports comes with many academic and athletic requirements. The Florida High School Athletic Association keeps track of each teams’ combined GPA, and teams are ranked by their academic accomplishments at the end of the season. As a school athletic program, Parrish Community finished 4th overall in class 5A with 86 points. This is the highest finish in school history, with numerous sports earning a top 10 ranking.

    Bulls Baseball District Runner Ups, Standout Season

    The 2024 Parrish Community baseball season ended as the Class 5A District 9 runner ups and advanced to the Region 3 playoffs. They are proud of their season with Varsity ending with a 23-8 record and Junior Varsity with an 8-8 record.

    Bulls Track and Field Finishes Strong

    At the FHSAA 3A Region 3 meet, 16 total athletes punched their tickets in to qualify for the FHSAA 3A State meet. In Jacksonville, 5 athletes placed All-State which is top 8. These include: Triple Jump (Rylie Jackson): 5th Place – 11.47m and Boys 4x400m (Dylan Sabol, Von Moss, Jacob Mattson, Parker Vitoritt): Tied 7th Place – 3:21.63

    Beach Volleyball Season Overview

    The girls beach volleyball team has been practicing hard and playing tougher this season, with their regular season record of 3-7. The team is working to better establish themselves as strong contenders in the district. They beat Lakewood Ranch HS 3-2 at the Class 1A District 19 competition on Apr. 23.

    Parrish Tennis Teams Persevere through Championship Season

    After a strong regular season, both the girls’ and boys’ teams persevered through the championship season, with the girls as one of the finest across Manatee and Sarasota Counties and the boys finishing 2nd in the FHSAA Class 3A District 11 competition. Both teams made tremendous improvements this year and paved the way for next year's team.

    PCHS Runs First Official Girls Lacrosse Season

    This year is Parrish Community high school's first season with an official girls' lacrosse team. Head Coach Ozborn Stelter has already created goals for next season, as the team stated there is much room for improvement. Some of those goals are to win more games and create a more divisive program like adding a Junior Varsity team.

    As the Parrish Bulls head into regionals on the 8th of May, it can be said they had a phenomenal season on the track, despite problems off the track. At the FHSAA 3A District 9 Finals, the Bulls qualified 36 athletes across 23 events.

    Boys Weightlifting Concludes with State Finalist

    The 2024 boys’ weightlifting season officially ended at the FHSAA state championships in Lakeland on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20. Parrish was represented by senior Chase Eichorn who competed in the 119-pound weight class and took part in both the Traditional and Olympic Championships.

    Girls Flag Football closes the book on memorable 2024 season

    It was a historic season for the Girls Flag Football team, putting together a 10-5 record (including playoffs) and the program’s first appearance in a district championship game.     Bulls Softball looks to reclaim state title

    The Parrish Bulls softball team kicked off their highly anticipated 2024 season on February 13-15 against Braden River High School, Desoto High School, and Inspiration Academy at home in a preseason tournament. The girls went undefeated in three games to win the tournament. Then they won their official season opener against Palmetto High School on February 27. A strong start, as the Bulls are looking to defend their previous state title.

    The PCHS tennis team started their 2024 season in January. They have been working hard and shown a strong start. The girls have an undefeated record, and the boys are contenders with their largest group yet.

    Girls Flag Football season underway at Parrish Community High School

    The girls have taken the football field for their 2024 Flag Football season.

    The team had their first game of the season on February 20, ending in a 12-6 victory for the Bulls at Southeast High. As of March 11, the team has a 4-3 record, a solid rebound from a tough 3-10 finish last season.

    On Feb 1, the Parrish Community varsity girls' soccer team won the district championship for the third year in a row, defeating Braden River 2-1. After this, they went on to the regional quarterfinals as the 3rd seed in the region.

    The 23-24 girls' basketball season ended with successful results. Starting with a back-to-back District championship. Winning districts was a memorable experience this year, especially since the team had home court advantage. This made the win more exciting. This also gave them a strong start going into their regional tournament.

    Indoor Track Qualifies Multiple for Nationals

    To conclude the indoor season in Gainesville, the Parrish Community Track Team qualified 7 athletes for the New Balance Indoor Nationals – the pinnacle of track: Javon Moss, Parker Vitoritt, Dylan Sabol, Trevor Carrell, Bianca Grindo, Alana Price, and Jacob Kosko.

    Boys Basketball takes the Bull by the Horns

    The Parrish boys’ basketball season has come to a conclusion. After defeating Boca Ciega High School on Wednesday, February 7th in the first round of the district playoffs on our home court, the team moved on to the semifinals to face off against Braden River High school. They knew it would be an uphill battle and they were locked in headed into the game. During preparation for the game, Dylan Higgins said, “The team has one goal in mind, and that is to win districts.”

    Boys PCHS Soccer District Champions

    “Don’t talk about our glory, listen to our story,” is a quote said by Coach Gabe Mazo on his twitter and it fits perfectly with his team. The boys varsity soccer team won the district championship beating Braden River for the first time in school history for both while going 10-9-1. “It is a huge accomplishment to the boys cementing a foundation to the program.”

    The Parrish Community Cheerleaders are mostly seen on the sidelines cheering for our football team. More recently they’ve been in the stands cheering for the Varsity boys' and girls' basketball teams. What the community may not know is the cheer team also has a competitive team that has been hard at work since October 16th preparing for their competitions.
