NHS welcomes new Mustangs

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - The LRHS National Honor Society (NHS) inducted 136 new members Thursday night.
NHS is a prestigious organization that was founded in 1921 and has chapters in all 50 states in the US.
The four pillars of NHS are scholarship, leadership, character, and care and are derived from knowledge.
This year’s LRHS inductees have an average unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.8 and an average of 79 service hours.

Junior Mariana Alvarez-Cortes said “I am proud to be a part of this association and thankful to know my hard work paid off.”
LRHS Chapter Adviser and English Teacher Tracy Gregory said that these students have worked hard to earn their spots in NHS and their journeys have just begun.
Sophomore Olivia Holden said “It is such a privilege to be inducted into the National Honor society at LRHS. I never thought I would be given this opportunity so it's pretty surreal. I'm so excited for my future adventures in the club!”
Famous people such as Taylor Swift, Bill Gates, and former president Gerald Ford were part of NHS while in High School.
