Fourth quarter brings new vending machines to LRHS

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - LRHS surprised Mustangs with an upgrade this week with the arrival of new vending machines.
Many mustangs are excited about this new addition.
Senior Derek Espinoza exclaimed, “I feel they are a great addition to the school. And I think it’s great they provide students with healthier foods and protein.”
Sophomore Asha Gustek agreed, “They are great! I ate the chickpea white cheddar chips, and they were delicious!!”
Junior Mairead Holland also said positive things, “I think they're a good addition to campus and they’ll definitely be used by a majority of the student body.”

Lastly, Senior Reagan Mayforth stated, “I think they're great, they have a good variety of snacks and drinks. I also love Poppi and now I can enjoy it at school!
LRHS Principal Dustin Dahlquist the new machines still meet federal nutrition guidelines.
“USDA Federal requirements require all food items sold to students during the school day to meet Smart Snack Requirements. In addition, The Florida Administrative code restricts sale of items to high school students until 30 minutes after the last lunch even if they meet Smart Snacks requirements,” he said.
