(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS officials have postponed this week’s Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (BEST) Writing Assessment by one day and have also decided not to follow block scheduling.
"We've decided to give our students one extra day to prepare for the BEST test,” said LRHS principal Dustin Dalquist. “We're basically using the same schedule we've used in the past. It was successful then and we are confident that success will continue."

The traditional LRHS schedule is seven periods per day, 45 minutes each. Block schedule plans four periods a day at about 100 minutes each. Even periods are one day, odd the next.
Earlier this year LRHS Journalism 1 students conducted a campus-wide poll and found 70.3% of Mustangs prefer traditional scheduling.
