Gaining volunteer hours is important for students looking to apply for the state’s Bright Futures Scholarship, which can cover 75-100% of tuition and fees in Florida public universities. A minimum of 100 volunteer service hours that can include paid work hours, are required.
According to the Bright Future’s Handbook, “The hours of volunteer service or paid work must be documented in writing, and the document must be signed by the student, the student’s parent or guardian, and a representative of the organization for which the student performed the volunteer service or paid work.”
