Manatee High's Jacquez Green named Buccaneers Coach of the Week
Coach Jacquez Green went from carrying out plays on the field, to leading from the sidelines.
Manatee High School’s head football coach is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach of the Week.
An announcement was made on Friday.
Coach Green is a Florida Gators’ Hall of Fame player and former Bucs’ wide receiver from 1998 through 2001.
He became an offensive coordinator for Manatee High School in 2019 and Green was named head coach in 2021.
Nominees are selected based on specific criteria including record, commitment to players, leadership, community service and character.
Each week, fans can vote for one of four “Coach of the Week” nominees from Tampa Bay-area high schools.
Coach Green will receive a $2,000 grant from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation to help maintain and upgrade the Hurricanes’ football program.
In December, the Buccaneers will announce their Coach of the Year nominees.
The winner moves on to represent the team in the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year program. Congratulations!
