Haile Middle School celebrates American Education Week
During the week of November 14-18, 2022, Haile Middle School celebrated American Education Week.
It started with a very special breakfast on Tuesday, as students were encouraged to "Bring Their Adult" to join them for a school breakfast.
Nearly 60 adults spent the morning with their students and enjoyed coffee and breakfast.
On Wednesday, Haile Middle School PTO served faculty, staff, custodians, cafeteria workers and bus drivers breakfast.
The meal was a show of appreciation for their hard work serving students each and every day.
On Thursday, the school hosted its 9th Annual Teacher Shadow Day, in which several students were able to shadow and teach classes alongside their teachers.
School leaders hope this will inspire students to consider a future in education.
On Friday, they finished the week with a final push for donations to support schools devastated by Hurricane Ian.
Haile Middle's American Education Week School Adoption Drive supports Port Charlotte Middle School in Charlotte County and Nocatee Elementary School in Arcadia, which is in DeSoto County.
Students and staff collected new and gently used items including backpacks, sneakers, clothes, in addition to food, water and school supplies. More than 2,000 items were delivered to the schools on Thursday, December 1st.
