Students, staff pledge healthy, drug-free lifestyle during Red Ribbon Week

Schools across Manatee County observed Red Ribbon Week from October 23rd through October 27th.

Buffalo Creek Middle School

The nationally recognized campaign began in 1988 in memory of slain DEA Special Agent Enrique (Kiki) Camarena, who exposed a multi-billion dollar drug pipeline from Mexico.

Sea Breeze Elementary School

Students and staff were encouraged to participate in spirited theme days.

Prine Elementary School

This year’s theme was “Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free!”

Dr. Mona Jain Middle School

Every school chose their own activities, from “shading out drugs” by wearing sunglasses, to “teaming up against drugs” by wearing sports jerseys.

Daughtrey Elementary School

There were lots of fun and creative ways for students to express themselves, and pledge to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
