Art in the Capitol contest winner surprised at Dr. Mona Jain Middle

On Friday, November 3, 2023, Manatee County's Art in the Capitol winner was surprised while in art class at Dr. Mona Jain Middle School in Lakewood Ranch.

Jeramiah Bowman, Curriculum Specialist for Visual and Performing Arts, congratulated Camille McCluggage, an 8th grade student, and her teacher, Denise Mueller.

Camille's work was chosen by a panel of judges, who viewed artwork from 12 middle schools and 60 students.

The piece will represent our community as it hangs at the Capitol in Tallahassee from January 9, 2024 – March 1, 2024.

Congratulations, Camille!
