Schools benefit from Pirates' Manatee Education Foundation Day at LECOM Park

The Pittsburgh Pirates hosted Manatee Education Foundation Day at LECOM Park on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Principals from Bayshore Elementary School, Lincoln Memorial Middle School and Bayshore High School received a check for $5,000 each from Pittsburgh Pirates Charities.

Superintendent Jason Wysong was one of two special guests invited to throw out the first pitch.

Finally, Braden River High School 11th grader Jacob Mazzone sang the national anthem - and it was quite touching to hear the clapping and shouts of praise from the stands as he walked off of the baseball field.

It was a beautiful day at the ballpark for public education!
