Career and Technical Education students bring home gold from SkillsUSA

Manatee County students brought home dozens of gold, silver and bronze medals from the SkillsUSA Florida State Leadership & Skills Conference.

The event brings together the most highly skilled career and technical education students.

MTC students Alejandro Hernandez and Ricardo Cambell won first in the state at 2024 Florida SkillsUSA in Television (Video) Production college division.

Manatee Technical College students earned top spots for advertising design, automated manufacturing technology, barbering, collision repair, dental assisting, diesel equipment technology, marine service technology, and much more.

High school students who are dual enrolled at MTC earned medals in automobile maintenance and light repair; diesel equipment technology; as well as heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration.

Additionally, gold and silver medals were earned by Bayshore High School and Southeast High School students respectively, in the category of Related Technical Math.

MTC students Lillian Geary, Carlos Picart and Megan Hosker won first in state in Welding Fabrication at 2024 Florida SkillsUSA.

 

Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients who are on the road to becoming America’s next skilled professionals and career-ready leaders.
