Summer of the Arts: Student creativity on display at five school district summer camps

In June, the School District of Manatee County's Visual & Performing Arts Department offered free summer camps to families, which were provided using ESSER funds.

Students entering 6th through 9th grades took advantage of the opportunity to discover new arts programs or fine-tune their current skills, including band, chorus, orchestra, art and theater.

Highly-qualified arts instructors and high school students led two-week programs at Braden River Middle (art), Lakewood Ranch High (band and orchestra), and Parrish Community High Schools (theater and chorus).

The camps culminate with a showcase performance or display for families.

You can view photos from visits to the various campuses where student talent was on display.
