The project was funded by a state appropriation and developed in partnership with the Guy Harvey Foundation.
The murals, which took about four months to complete from start to finish, are located at King Middle School and Manatee High School.

The vibrant marine life is featured in the front office, near the cafeteria and the building facade at King; and the cafeteria doors and windows at Manatee.
The murals were installed by a team from SignZoo, who brought Dr. Harvey's artwork and the school principals' vision to life, using weather-resistant vinyl.
Both schools join Anna Maria Elementary, the first of three schools offering Guy Harvey Foundation curriculum to enhance marine science and conservation education.
The Guy Harvey Academy of Arts & Science officially opened with similar artwork in December 2022.
