Manatee County students and staff salute Veterans for their service and sacrifice

Schools are celebrating Veterans for their service and sacrifice leading up to November 11th.

On Thursday, Tara Elementary School hosted a spectacular musical performance to honor our nation's heroes.

On Friday, Freedom Elementary School staff and students invited Veterans and first responders to their annual “Let Freedom Ring Ceremony”.

The ceremony was filled with students singing and tributes to those who make freedom possible.

McNeal Elementary School celebrated Veterans in a special way.

In what's called a reverse parade, the staff and students stood side-by-side waving to Veterans who paraded through the school parking lot.

Students from Lakewood Ranch High School Marching Band and JROTC also participated.

During Braden River Middle School's annual tribute, a beautiful new mosaic tile project was unveiled.

Student musicians from the band, orchestra and chorus, all performed patriotic music for an audience filled with Veterans and patriots.

Braden River High School JROTC and Southeast High School Television also participated in the ceremony.

Veteran and former School Board Member Frank Brunner was the guest speaker.

Happy Veterans Day to all who served our country and sacrificed themselves for our freedom.
