Young leaders shine at Florida Technology Student Association conference
Young leaders from Manatee County’s district-run schools recently brought home 229 top ten awards from the Florida Technology Student Association in Orlando. Braden River High School once again took the title of “State Champions”.

The following schools earned first place trophies in their respective categories: Braden River Middle School (Biotechnology I, Community Service Video, Prepared Speech I, and Tech Bowl I), Braden River High School (Biotechnology Design II, Computer-Aided Design Engineering, Dragster Design II, Engineering Design II, and Promotional Design II), Dr. Mona Jain Middle School (Cybersecurity I), Haile Middle School (Children’s Stories I, Dragster, Flight, and Structural Engineering I), King Middle School (Fashion Design), Lakewood Ranch High School (Webmaster II), Nolan Middle School (System Control Technology I and Technical Design), Southeast High School (Audio Podcasting, Future Technology and Engineering Teacher, and Technology Bowl II), and Parrish Community High School (Structural Design and Engineering II).

The following schools earned second place trophies in their respective categories: Braden River Middle School (Leadership Strategies, Medical Technology Issues, and Structural Engineering I), Braden River High School (Board Game Design, Chapter Team II, Drone Challenge, Geospatial Technology, Photographic Technology II, and Transportation Modeling), Buffalo Creek Middle School (Prepared Speech I), Dr. Mona Jain Middle School (Cybersecurity I and Essays on Technology I), Haile Middle School (Digital Photography I, Dragster I, and Flight I), Lakewood Ranch High School (Coding II, Prepared Presentation II, and System Control Technology II), Nolan Middle School (Junior Solar Sprint), Palmetto High School (Debating Technological Issues, Dragster Design II, and Technology Bowl II), Palm View K-8 (Inventions and Innovations, Promotional Marketing I), Southeast High School (Extemporaneous Speech), and Sugg Middle School (Microcontroller Design).
