PCHS celebrates teachers, staff during Teacher Appreciation Week
Brooklynn Deckman - PCHS Bulletin
Parrish Community held a week-long celebration from May 6-10, celebrating teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication during the school year.
Throughout the week, organizations across the school sponsored daily activities for staff members. Teachers also participated in daily raffles to win baskets with items donated by the community.
Here were some of the activities that teachers and staff were treated to:
- Monday: The administration treated their staff to fresh coffee, fruit, and chicken biscuits.
- Tuesday: DECA provided a breakfast buffet of donuts and coffee.
- Wednesday: The administration partnered with Bayside Community Church to provide lunch for the staff. They also held a BINGO event with desserts after school.
- Thursday: FFA provided ice cream for staff after school.
- Friday: SGA threw a catered BBQ luncheon for the staff.
In addition, the Manatee County School District visited each campus during the week to recognize all their employees who have served in the district for 25+ years. Each employee was presented with a golden lanyard, pin, and engraved frame.
Honored at Parrish Community were:
- Macie Adams - Math
- Heather Dietz - Math
- Amanda Hedman - English
- Paul Champagne - Assistant Principal
- Diana Ansbro - Guidance Counselor
- Tracy Jordan - Guidance Counselor
- Rendy Francey - Cafeteria Manager
- Mercedes Wildman - Media Specialist
Adams has been with the school district for 32 years, two of those years coming from here in Parrish. Before her Parrish tenure, she served at Southeast High for 6 years and spent the next 24 years at Lakewood Ranch High.
“I feel being a part of anything for 25+ years is a great accomplishment and a true reflection of commitment,” Adams stated.
She added that connecting with the students is “the best part of the job!”
