Parrish gets "A" status.

PCHS Bulletin- Emma Fletcher

For the first time since it opened in 2019, Parrish Community High School has received an A rating, marking a significant milestone in its educational journey. School grades were released at the end of the summer. Schools earn points based on categories such as test scores, acceleration, and graduation.

Test score points are earned from FAST ELA reading in grades 9 and 10, and EOCs in Algebra, Geometry, Biology, and US History. This year, Parrish showed the most growth on the Biology EOC and FAST ELA, blowing the school improvement goal out of the water. Acceleration points were earned from any certification or exam students took beyond the high school level, including college courses and industry certifications in programs offered on campus. The school also earned points from the 95% graduation rate for the qualifying senior class.

These points, in addition to the overall environment on campus, pushed Parrish Community over the line to qualify as an A school. Parrish Community’s dedicated staff, who provide rigorous standard-based instructions and identify each student's needs, provide the opportunity to maintain this status.

Now, the school has the challenge of keeping their A rating.

Mellisa Gagnon, assistant principal at Parrish Community, tells students to “be in attendance, challenge yourself, ask questions, never give up, and make sure you regularly communicate with your teachers. If you do not understand something – ASK! Advocating for yourself is so important.”
