FFA Shines with 3 Star Status

PCHS Bulletin - Emma Fletcher

The “National FFA Organization” (FFA) is a national organization that teaches agricultural education and leadership development to students. This year at PCHS, FFA reached a significant milestone by meeting the requirements to become a 3 Star Chapter for the second year in a row! This is just a glimpse of the hard work and commitment of the students and faculty involved in the program display.

To earn this ranking, the PCHS FFA chapter completes various events outlined in their program of activities, including Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT). The training is designed for leadership officers in FFA, preparing them to guide their peers effectively.

Makayla Chenard, FFA president at PCHS, stated “During these leadership conferences, I hope to better my public speaking and leadership skills, so I can better lead my chapter.”

Chenard also stated her broader goals as FFA president by emphasizing the importance of inclusivity within the organization. “I strive to make sure that everyone feels welcome in FFA and make sure that everyone knows it’s a national organization, welcome to anybody,” she said.

The hard work that FFA has carried out paid off. From October 21-26, they traveled to Indianapolis for the national convention to receive their 3-star chapter award. While FFA’s main goal for this year was met, they continue to strive for the values of leadership and community. Their success is evidence of the hard work all its members and faculty possess, setting the standards for future achievements!
