Ambassador WRN (Weather Ready Nation)

The School District of Manatee County is working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as Weather-Ready National Ambassador to improve the nation’s readiness against extreme weather, water and climate events.

“As a Weather-Ready National Ambassador, the school district is committing to work with NOAA and other Ambassadors to strengthen national resilience against extreme weather,” said Paul Damico, the School District’s Chief Officer of Safety and Security. “School district officials will work with NOAA in the near future to explore collaboration opportunities.”

The School District joins several other local agencies as WRN Ambassadors, such as the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce, Emergency Management Division, Port Authority, Economic Development Division and Public Safety Department.

Local Weather-Ready Ambassadors across the country have launched awareness campaigns about hurricane preparedness, other weather hazards and critical incidents.
