Manatee County students shined on stage on Thursday, April 11, 2024, for the 47th Annual Golden Herald Awards at the State College of Florida in Bradenton.

Nearly 170 students were nominated for awards, which exemplify achievement and service to school and community.

In each category, one winner and one honorable mention recipient is named, and received $1,800 and $700, respectively.

Categories include: art, athletics, business, citizenship, computer & technology, drama, English & literature, foreign language, general scholarship, journalism, math, music, science, social science, speech and vocational.

Congratulations to the traditional public-school students who earned this time-honored tradition in Manatee County.

Upon the conclusion of the program, a drawing resulted in two additional nominees winning scholarships for $1,000 and $500.
