We're proud to announce the winners of the Manatee County Retired Educators Association (MCREA) Fifth Grade Essay Contest.
First Place - Katelyn M., Willis Elementary School (Lakewood Ranch)
Katelyn wrote an essay about attending the 2024 LPGA Drive On Championship with her grandfather, and how exciting it was to take a photo with her golf idol - Bradenton native, Nelly Korda.
"I tried to include lots of detail that was unique," said Katelyn, a young golfer herself. "I look up to her (Nelly Korda) because she's so unstoppable and never gives up."
