Employees and students across Manatee County participated in Spirit Week to celebrate the Red Ribbon Campaign. 

Red Ribbon Week takes place each year from October 23 through 31st. 

The MISSION: to help keep kids drug-free.

Abel Elementary School

Bayshore Elementary School

We kicked off red ribbon week with a visit from Elroy the Elk. This week students will learn about making healthy lifestyle choices.

   

Blackburn Elementary School

Blackburn Bolts "Put a Cap on Drugs" today by wearing caps and hats for Red Ribbon Week!! They also went "Head to toe Drug Free" with crazy hair and silly socks.

   

Buffalo Creek Middle School

Students in the National Junior Honor Society quizzed students on ways to live a healthy life and stay drug free. Examples of questions, “What are two harmful effects of smoking” and “What is the addictive chemical in cigarettes?” This event was supported by the Health Department of Manatee County and North River Prevention. More than 500 students at a school of nearly 1,200 were reached.

Johnson K-8 School of International Studies

It's been a great Red Ribbon Week so far! Today was Twinning Day.

   

Harllee

Dr. Stowers and Mr. Vassor at Harllee Elementary worked with students and staff this week to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Here are pictures of students attaching red material to a fence in front of the school. Students were taught to say, "NO!" to drugs.
