On Thursday, December 7th, Braden River High School's Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a "River Wonderland" holiday event for students, staff and the community.
The event was a tremendous success, according to Assistant Principal Laura Gonzales.
It was a student-run event and offered free food, games, performances and a petting zoo.
Many families brought their young children to meet Santa.
A local woman reached out to the school after attending the event with her five-year-old son.
"I just want to praise the students who were running the show," the email reads. "As a 16-year vetted teacher, I know the amount of planning that goes into events like this and, as a parent, I'm very thankful your school chose to take this on."
Braden River High's Commercial Art Teacher, Casey Fabianski, created a 13-foot tall sand sculpture in honor of the event.
Way to go, Pirates!
