On Monday, ABC 7 in Sarasota invited the representatives from Manatee and Sarasota County school districts to receive a large donation from a local law firm.

Administrators receive large checks from channel 7 news

Carl Reynolds Law presented Mary Glass, Executive Director of Manatee Education Foundation, and Davian Spires from Sarasota County Schools, each a check for $12,500.

The generous donation is a result of business partnerships within the community.

An additional total of $4,500 was donated directly to the School District of Manatee County by the following individuals, businesses or organizations:

  • Bowes Imaging Center

  • Camden Associates, LLC

  • Florida Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, LLC

  • Joe B. Johnson

  • John Cannon Homes

  • Optimal Physical Therapy of Bradenton

  • The Blessing Bags Project

Manatee Education Foundation provides funding for innovative programs and enhanced educational opportunities for teachers and students of Manatee County public schools beyond allocated state dollars.

During ABC 7’s Chalkboard Champion Day of Giving, four school buses were also filled with school supplies which were donated by community members at various locations.

Those backpacks and school supplies are going directly to Manatee County Title I schools.
