The ESE Department hosted a summer conference at Ballard Elementary School on July 24-26, 2023.
Registration was open to all educators and a variety of ESE teachers, general education teachers, school psychologists, behavior specialists, Intensive Support Team chairs, and ESE specialists were in attendance to provide sessions and learn from their peers.
Sessions included the effects of trauma on the brain, the neuroscience of learning and engagement, collaborative teaching, social skills and self-regulation, to name a few.
In addition to the wonderful topics covered by our presenters, there were also giveaways including: classroom learning centers, visual schedules, brain break activities for students, classroom supplies and iPads for classroom use.
The ESE Department would like to thank their planning committee, their presenters, and all of the SDMC educators who attended!
Special thanks to Sara Sanders, Lead School Psychologist, for sharing this Good News.
