On Thursday, March 10th, 60 Braden River Middle School (BRMS) orchestra and chorus students attended a dress rehearsal at the Sarasota Opera.
Students enjoyed watching Verdi’s “Attila”, an opera in a prologue and three acts, which is sung in Italian with translations into English.
They got a “behind the scenes” look at how the pit orchestra and opera singers rehearse and prepare for performance.
It was a great way for the students to see professionals in action!
BRMS orchestra and chorus teacher, Sarah Troeller, said students were "wowed by the orchestra, costumes/staging, and the beauty of the Sarasota Opera House."
Thank you to the Sarasota Opera for allowing our young musicians to take part in this amazing experience.
