A huge congratulations to three Manatee County educators who received Congressional Teacher Awards on Tuesday.

Superintendent Cynthia Saunders attended the recognition ceremony, along with school administrators.
Congressman Vern Buchanan honored a total of seven teachers from Florida's 16th District, which includes Sarasota and Hillsborough Counties.
He established the Congressional Teacher Awards in 2014 to recognize exceptional teachers for their outstanding achievements on behalf of students.
Teachers were nominated by their principals, and an independent panel of judges from three counties chose the recipients of the awards.
Winners receive a certificate and will be recognized by the congressman in the Congressional Record.
