Oh, how sweet it is! Parrish Community High School freshman Mia Gonzalez adds another win to her portfolio.
The 14-year old already won Best in Show for her work called "Cultural Buffet" in the international Embracing Our Differences contest.
Now, Mia has been chosen as the 9th through 12th grade level winner of the ESS Art Contest.
ESS is the management company contracted to hire Manatee County substitute teachers.
More than 1,500 students across the U.S. entered the art contest, themed "What would it be like to go to a school made of candy?"
Below is her winning painting titled, "Lane to the Schoolhouse of Sweets."
Mia receives a $500 gift card for winning first place - and Parrish Community High School receives a $500 gift card, as well.
Judges scored each piece based on artistic and technical skill, originality, adherence to a theme, unique approach and creativity.
Fan votes also helped choose the winners.
Congratulations, Mia!
