With the start of the summer just days away, students are preparing for a summer filled with fun - but for one group, it will include an opportunity to prepare for their future.
Four students from Bayshore High School received full scholarships to attend the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications' Summer Media Institute. Rising seniors, Ally M., Katia S., Shale N. and rising junior, Meah H., are going to Gainesville on June 19th for a five-night, six-day workshop.
Participants of the UF Summer Media Institute will work in state-of-the-art facilities and begin preparing for careers in the media. Students who earned a spot in this coveted program have a passion and talent for storytelling and communication.
