Meet and Greet RGB 2022 12

Families from Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary School shared a meal and a handshake with new school principal Michael Escorcia on Thursday.

Members of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, armed with spatulas, carefully turned hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill.

"It smells wonderful" said guests as they entered the school cafeteria.

Community volunteers from civic groups and churches joined the fun, along with members of the Bradenton Police Department and school district leadership.

Students and families met Mr. Escorcia and some of his school staff, including counselor Regina Boyd and Graduation Enhancement Technician Carolyn Wilson.

After enjoying a delicious meal, students selected their favorite backpack filled with school supplies.

There was also a food pantry for families. All donations from community partners.

If this event is an indication of what's to come at Rogers Garden-Bullock, it's going to be a successful school year!
