The school district welcomed new teachers on Thursday during an orientation event at Braden River High School.
Some are brand new to education, yet others are teachers who are new to Manatee County.
Braden River High School's drum line played a few cadences to get the new teachers pumped up, before heading off to a band camp nearby.
After breakfast and chatting with vendors offering financial services, they moved to the school's auditorium to hear various speakers.
Superintendent Cynthia Saunders kicked off the new teacher orientation, followed by Manatee County's Teachers of the Year from 2018 through 2022.
Nicholas Leduc (Barbara A. Harvey Elementary), Heather Anderson (Dr. Mona Jain Middle) and Debra Hartline (Braden River High) welcomed the group to the Manatee County "family".
2022 Florida Teacher of the Year finalist Deelah Jackson told the educators about her career journey, from police officer to teacher, and how her passion for educating young people always played an important role in her life.
We can't wait for an exciting new school year to begin on Wednesday, August 10th.
Welcome to the School District of Manatee County!
