A recent Lakewood Ranch High School graduate received accolades from a statewide professional development and health care association.
Reagan Gross was awarded the Pre-Professional Student of the Year Award from the Athletic Trainers' Association of Florida (ATAF).
The recognition took place on July 9th during the 2022 ATAF Symposium in Kissimmee, near Orlando, in a room filled with certified athletic trainers from across Florida.
Athletic trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who render service or treatment in collaboration with a physician.
Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
Reagan is the third student from Lakewood Ranch High School to receive the honor, following Lauren McGill (2020) and Nadia Cincotta (2018).
"This is a huge accomplishment," said LRHS Head Athletic Trainer Sydney Suppa, "I could not be more proud!"
Recipients of the award must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher; be nominated by a certified and licensed athletic trainer; and intend to pursue the profession of athletic training.
Congratulations, Reagan!
