A great example of Education with Innovation and Imagination!
Students participating in Camp RISE at Tillman Elementary School have spent their summer researching and creating projects in an effort to solve real-world problems.
The school hosted an Engineering Gallery Walk on Thursday, June 30th, to display their work for families and staff.
Guests walked through a gallery of STEAM creations (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) to learn through the eyes of these young engineers.
Students enthusiastically explained their projects to Superintendent Cynthia Saunders, too.
There were bridges built from household items such as pipe cleaners and shoeboxes, and homes built with Lego bricks to demonstrate different methods of protection from a hurricane.
Technology was widespread through the cafeteria, too.
Students built circuits, robots and drones using batteries, wires and kits.
One group laughed as they launched circular discs overhead, which looked like tiny helicopter rotors.
Next to their projects were the books they used to research and design their ideas.
One group explored the evolution of architectural engineering, while another came up with ways technology can be used to improve the safety of vehicles.
This event was well-attended and stands to be an annual tradition for Tillman Elementary, inspiring students for years to come.
